# File creation / mailing

Builds legal case evaluation (LCE) records for selected legal cases and stamps the file-create/mailed
date used to track the file-creation deadline.

## Steps

1. Caller supplies the mailed date and the set of cases to process.
2. `UpdateCreateFile(inDPI, mailedDate)` builds an LCE record per case and computes the file-create due
   date ([BR-CF-001](../business-rules.md#br-cf-001-file-create-evaluations-are-due-%2B15-days%2C-or-%2B18-working)).
3. The mailed date is stamped on the case's file-creation tracking fields.
